Daily Routine in Darija: From Morning to Night

Talking about your daily routine is one of the best ways to practice speaking Darija. Whether you're learning to express habits, times, or simple actions like “I wake up” or “I go to work,” this post will guide you through a typical Moroccan day — from Sba7 (morning) to Lil (night). ☀️🌙

🗓️ Start with Time Expressions

English Darija
In the morning f sba7
At noon f nhar
In the afternoon f la3shiya
In the evening f fla3shiya
At night f lil
Every day kul nahr

☀️ Morning Routine

Darija English Translation
kanfi9 f sba7 I wake up in the morning.
Kandawash I take a shower.
Kanakol laftour I eat breakfast.
Kanlbas 7wayji I get dressed.
Kamkhraj mn dar I leave the house.

🏢 Daytime Routine

Darija English Translation
Kanmshi lkhadam/lmadrasa I go to work / school.
Kankhdam 7tal la3shiya I work until the afternoon.
Kanakol laghda I eat lunch.
Kan9ra I study.
Kantsna tram I wait for the tram.

🌙 Evening & Night Routine

Darija English Translation
Kanwsal dar I arrive home.
Kanrta7 shwiya I rest a bit.
Kanakol la3sha I eat dinner.
Kantfaraj talfaza I watch TV.
Kan9ra ktab I read a book.
Kanmshi n3as I go to sleep.

🧠 Pro Tip: Use the Present Tense

In Darija, the prefix “ kan-kat-kay ” is commonly added to verbs in the present tense:

  • Kanfi9 = I usually wake up / I am waking up

This helps you describe routines or ongoing actions.
